The Sormac SC/NextGen centrifuge is used for drying leafy vegetables. The drum has a completely smooth internal surface, without a central axis or other parts that could damage the product. The patented magnetic bearing drive ensures stable and smooth operation in all conditions. The pendulum conveyor evenly distributes the products on the slowly rotating drum. The drum then accelerates to the set rotational speed. At the end of the drying cycle, the drum is released and the inclined position of the drum causes the products to slide onto the discharge conveyor.

The buffer conveyor is filled during the drying cycle so as not to disrupt the continuous flow of the product. The Sormac centrifuge configuration minimizes the likelihood of product damage.

The drum dimensions are large enough to achieve a small product layer thickness and an even and low pressure on the product.
The SC/NextGen is characterized by an exceptionally open design with optimal accessibility for cleaning and maintenance. Energy savings of around 20% have been achieved by combining more efficient motors and a frequency converter with an energy recovery system.
